A Weekend Getaway to the Grand Pacific Palisades Resort in Carlsbad, CA!

A little weekend getaway was exactly what our family needed! With online school and the hustle and bustle of the fall season we were beyond ready for a break from reality!
Carlsbad has always been a favorite with our family. We visit two or three times a year to enjoy the beach, visit Legoland, and spend some quality time together. This past weekend we had the opportunity to stay at the Grand Pacific Palisades and we were beyond impressed!
When it comes to family vacations my top priority is always the kids. My goal is to find a place that the kids will enjoy, but still allows for the adults to have a break and enjoy some time to wind down. The Grand Pacific Palisades Resort offers all of that and more!

The resort has one, two, and three bedroom condo suites with a full kitchen and spacious balcony. The condo couldn't be more perfect for our family! We stayed in the two bedroom which had 1 King bed, a double bed, and a twin bed. I brought my parents along for the trip while Geordan stayed home to finish working on our backyard renovation (he totally missed out, but I can't wait to have our backyard finished!). My parents were happy to take the master and the kids and I enjoyed the second bedroom with two beds. Of course one bed was for all the stuffed animals they brought (seriously it was at least 10) and the three of us slept in the double bed together. I fully embrace their cuddles especially while on vacay, because I know the day will soon come when they are too big to have a sleepover with their mama!!

After checking in the first day we settled into the room and explored the property. The boys decided to go for a late night swim at the pool and play in the kids waterpark area. This was a huge hit! Hudson and Hayes' stayed to play until the pool closed at 9pm. Splashing, swimming, and sliding the night away! After some pool fun, we headed back to the condo room to get all cozy and watch a family movie. We decided on Star Wars (of course). After the movie the boys hit the pillow and were sleeping in no time! They were so excited to head to Legoland the next day!!
Yes, that is right! Legoland is open...well sort of. They are having a special Halloween in Miniland event every Friday-Sunday through the month of October. Though the rides and main park attractions aren't

open, there were still loads of fun activities to take part in. The kids built their own Lego pumpkin, explored the spooky Miniland USA, built a Lego boat to race, had the chance to get up close to some Sea Life Aquarium friendly critters, meet Lego characters, and of course hit the Lego store! The boys has such a blast and it made me so happy seeing how thrilled they were to finally visit Legoland again!

After our Legoland visit we headed back to the resort to change before heading to the beach. One of the best things about the resort is how close it is to Legoland. Our ride home was less than 8 minutes! Total win! We hit the resort room, made some delicious lunch in the fully stocked kitchen, and headed to the beach (also a super quick drive). The boys played in the sand for hours before we visited Choice Superfood Bar & Juicery. I strongly suggest visiting this location if you are ever in the mood for a healthy and refreshing smoothie or fresh pressed juice! So many delicious flavors and they also have a great little patio area for kids to run around!

After a day full of fun activities we headed back to the resort to enjoy some time by the fire before heading back to the room for some family UNO! Hudson somehow beat me twice after playing for hist first time! Definitely got his skills from his mama! After a game of UNO the boys decided to paint their piggy banks that they picked up from the activity center earlier that day. The resort offers weekly activities (currently all to-go) for kids to keep them entertained. Some activities are free and others range from $1-$3. The gentleman at the activity center were the best! They were so upbeat and genuinely happy to help Hudson and Hayes get their paint and pottery. The world needs more people like them!!!
The next day after checking out we wandered around the resort and took a walk on their many paths to enjoy the views and soak up the sunshine. We were definitely sad to leave, but already excited to visit again! Thank you Grand Pacific Palisades for hosting us! We can't wait to see you again soon!!
